Going raw!
This was supposed to be posted last week but I got so busy that I didn't have time till now.
Starbucks:
I'd like to start this blog off with a huge thank you to everyone that has donated money towards my Starbucks outings. Because of my once a week trips I've accumulated enough star points and was rewarded with one free ANY SIZE drink. I went with a venti chi tea frappuccino and a marble loaf. The soothing frappuccino in the hot sun is refreshing and the spice of the chi perfectly complements the chocolaty cake.
Diet:
I've been off and on my diet this summer which hasn't been good. I've decided to try a 30 day raw diet and eat only fruits and vegies. This diet will be very interesting since I won’t be cooking anything. I thought this would be a good way to clean out my system and get my yoyoing weight back under control. Before I started my diet on the 13
th
, I decided to have one final binge; hence the venti frappuccino and marble cake :).
Racing news:
We were so close to getting a Triple Crown winner this year. We haven't seen once since Affirmed won it in 1978. I'll Have Another had a fantastic Derby win and an amazing victory at the Preakness. He clenched two of the three Triple Crown races. The only one left was the Belmont. This is the toughest of the three races and it has taken down so many Triple Crown hopefuls because of the length of the race. I really thought I'll Have Another had a chance, but due to an injury he was scratched from the Belmont race and was immediately retired. He was such a phenomenal horse, but sadly could not have another win.
Riding:
Since my brother’s wedding, I've decided to continue volunteering at the horse barn. NARA gets free help with the horses and I get additional time to fine tune my riding skills. I still remember how horrible it was coming back after Christmas break. I had lost some ground and was getting run off with constantly. I've decided not to let that happen ever again.
Till next time,
Jesse Sauder
